Kinnect Welcomes Two New Members to the Board of Directors
Executive Director Shannon Deinhart is thrilled to announce the addition of two exceptional leaders to the Kinnect Board of Directors: Jo A. Tatarko, Partner at Perez Morris Law Firm, and Catherine Baker, Senior Corporate Legal Counsel at Progressive Insurance.
“Jo and Catherine bring diverse expertise, deep commitment, and a shared passion for improving outcomes for children and families. Their combined experiences will strengthen Kinnect’s efforts to support kinship connections and expand our impact across the community,” said Deinhart.

Jo A. Tatarko
Jo A. Tatarko is a Partner at Perez Morris Law Firm in Cleveland, Ohio, specializing in commercial litigation and employment law. A lifelong Clevelander and Miami University alumnus, Jo began her career as a victim advocate for Cuyahoga County, supporting families affected by domestic violence. Her experiences in child welfare and family services have given her a personal connection to Kinnect’s mission.
“Joining Kinnect brings me back to my roots in child welfare,” said Tatarko. “I’m passionate about addressing the challenges of kinship care, from finding family placements to providing the resources they need to thrive. I’m honored to contribute to this important work.”
Jo earned her law degree from the University of Akron and has over 15 years of legal experience. Outside of her professional life, she enjoys spending time with her husband and 13-year-old son, cheering on their favorite sports teams, and exploring Cleveland’s vibrant arts scene.

Catherine Baker brings a wealth of legal and entrepreneurial expertise as Senior Corporate Legal Counsel at Progressive Insurance. Catherine began her career in Miami, Florida, where she worked with Dade County’s documentation agency and served as a bilingual guardian ad litem for undocumented youth. Her work with vulnerable populations instilled a deep appreciation for finding familial connections for children in need.
